10 Winston Churchill Life Lessons and Quotes for A Better Life
Winston Churchill was the British Prime Minister during WWII and one of the greatest personalities who has given many life lessons for us. In this article, I am going to talk about Winston Churchill’s life lessons.
Winston Churchill’s Life Lessons
Let’s find below some of the Winston Churchill’s Life Lessons in order to improve our life:
1. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
We need to have possession of our living. It is the earnings we get from our profession or from our way of living. The proportion varies from person to person. People live in different ways and lifestyles for their self-satisfaction and interest. There is nothing greater in self-living. It is just a natural instinct for human beings.
The other way of learning about life is by the way of giving. Art of giving determines our life and how great we are. This is the way of helping others and gaining satisfaction. It is the practice and norm of human life. Living and Life are different. One is for yourself and the other is for others.
2. If you’re going through hell, keep going.
Life means a continuous speed, keep going. We should not allow stagnancy in any situation in life, even if we pass in a hard time, or a life full of apocalyptic phenomena. Every journey in life has an end, if we keep going through hell, it will be over one day.
After every bad situation, a good environment appears. We should not only wait with good hope, but also keep trying and keep moving to the path of spikes, garbage, and hell. When we stop going, we will never be able to come out of hell. In order to enjoy a better day and a change from the current bad situation, keeping going is the only way. Instead of depending on fate or others, change your life by yourself by movement.
3. You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.
Enemies are treated badly in common sense. They criticize, torment, do harm, and what not! But have you ever thought about why you have enemies? It is because you did something in your life. Something can be good or bad, upon neutral justification. However, good or bad can be changed according to different perspectives.
A person who led an insignificant life and never did anything in life will not be an enemy. When you have enemies, be sure you did something that they didn’t like. They give you a scope of self-assessment whether your job needs to change or not. When you accept enemies, and their criticism, you can improve your job.
4. To improve is to change, so to be perfect is to have changed often.
Change is a common phenomenon in every situation. There is nothing unchangeable on earth. Whatever it is, a great, small, tiny, notorious, or giant thing, it’s changeable over time.
Change is good. It is a way of improvement and transformation. There is nothing wrong with that. Accept change cordially. Continuous change makes a thing perfect. Try out new ways and changes to your current project. You may find a better way that may lead your goal to perfection.
People with a backward mentality don’t accept changes cordially. This is the wrong approach. With time and for need, change improves a thing to perfection. All the inventions we see now have come through graduate, certain, and obvious changes from time to time.
5. I never ‘worry’ about action, but only about inaction.
Don’t think too much over action or work. It is the go-to of life and every development and success in the world has come across a lot of actions from time to time. We live for action and movement. It is rather a bad stance when you have no action.
Inaction makes life miserable with sluggishness, pause, and stagnancy. It is bad for the person with inactivity and for society. Inactivity causes much damage to society. A lazy nation can’t shine in a competitive and speedy world. It is detrimental to the nation well to a personal level.
6. Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.
The path to success is not smooth. You will have undergone so much sacrifice in efforts, time, resources, obstacles, and alike. Every success we see in the world has come across the same uneven path.
There will be a lot of failure in between success. A failure in fact a process of success and let you try a different approach to moving forward. Persons who understand this philosophy and stick to the harsh way of success without losing home and enthusiasm win at last.
7. You will never get to the end of the journey if you stop to shy a stone at every dog that barks.
Criticism is common in the way of moving forward. When you will keep going on your goal, you will find many people doing harm and saying negatives. Some people are born negative, but they should not be your prime concern. If you every time pay attention to the criticism and encounter them with replies and feuds, you will just be distracted from your goal and will waste your valuable time.
Let the barking dogs shout unnecessarily, you just stick to your goal. Your ultimate success is the best way to stop their mouths.
8. One always measures friendships by how they show up in bad weather.
All friendships will not get the same status. You will find many friends by name only. True friendship is that which stands by your side in a bad situation. Inclement weather is a good way to distinguish between a fake and a true friend.
9. Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
There is no end to success. Success is just a station in your entire journey of life. There is greater success awaiting you. Keep going. Don’t be complacent with success. Don’t be happy with the stars, and go on to catch the moon.
Failure is not the end of hope. It gives you a way to try differently. Keep courage in your failure and keep trying to overcome your bad days.
10. For myself I am an optimist — it does not seem to be much use being anything else.
Optimism is the core of anything. Whatever gain or success you have, remember, that optimism and hope are the triggers that lead the way. Be optimistic all the time in any situation. Life may be filled with failure, dark and hollowness, but never lose hope.
