Hire Entertainers for Parties – 18 Things to Consider
How do hire entertainers for parties? There are some things entertainers don’t tell you before or after the contact, or even at the event. There are a variety of reasons why businesses pick live entertainment for their corporate events, but it goes well beyond simply entertaining attendees.
Corporate event entertainment provides value to your event by instilling creativity, thanking staff, welcoming new clients, kicking off the new year, and much more. Corporate party entertainment in Toronto is the way to go if you want to impress your guests and leave them talking for days (or even months) after your event is done.
Here are six benefits that artists and live musicians might assist you in achieving your event objectives:
1. Brand Values should be reinforced
Interactive entertainment for corporate events is a terrific alternative if you’re searching for a unique kind of entertainment that demonstrates your company’s worth.
For example, if your company is celebrating its tenth anniversary, you might want to take your staff to a fun event to demonstrate your gratitude for their hard work. As a result, you show your staff, as well as other organizations that hear about your event, that you care about them and that you recognize that success is a collective effort.
2. Arouse curiosity
Live music and performers, depending on the sort of business event you’re planning, might pique people’s curiosity. Using stilt walkers, a live DJ, dancers, and other choices that catch people’s attention from across the room will help you get the attention of your potential clients and consumers, whether your event is held in a huge exposition center or a conference hall. Once your customers have arrived at your booth, you may keep them interested by having your artists speak to or interact with them.
3. Engage
Interactive artists for corporate events may help you pull in your audience or get more prospects interested in your event. They can link you with out-of-town visitors or attract inquisitive people to your exhibit. Music creates an emotional connection, and a trained performer will know how to communicate with your audience effectively.
4. Boost Morale
It may be an excellent moment to increase corporate morale and revive your staff with an office party after a long, tough, and tiring year. Hire a comedian or bring in a live band to offer them a day to relax and enjoy. Bringing in entertainment is a certain method to boost employee happiness and thank them for their hard work.
5. Your Muscles Must Be Creatively Stretched
Planners may use corporate event entertainment to exercise their creative muscles and show off their expertise. Everyone who works on an event may put their talents to good use and organize a fantastic celebration for the organization.
The more planning that goes into the event, as well as the quality of the entertainment agency, the more interesting and effective it will be. Professional entertainment firms can help you create the innovative, personalized event you desire, whether it’s a New Year’s Eve extravaganza or an annual Christmas party.
6. Entertain
The primary goal of live entertainment, such as artists and musicians, is to amuse. Entertainers may convert a mundane occasion into something amazing.
With live bands and performers, you may improve the ambiance of your event, provide your visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience, and better engage your audience than ever before. There are several entertaining advantages to hiring live entertainment for your business party, and your event will be the talk of the town for months!
Hire Entertainers for Parties: 12 Things They Don’t Tell You
1. Why his fee isn’t listed anywhere
Most magicians like to have your phone in so they can do some research before giving you a quote. They guess at the biggest price they believe you’ll pay after a few inquiries. If Magicboy detects a Beverly Hills or South Beach area code, the fee increases before he answers the phone.
2. Most won’t tell you there’s a guarantee
Of course, the greatest performers, like a good company, stand behind their products and services. Continue shopping if a magician is unwilling to provide a refund if he fails.
3. Magic competitions are worthless
Don’t get me wrong, certain competitions are more prestigious than others. Magicians, on the other hand, have a different taste in entertainment than the ordinary audience member. Magicians may think performance is fantastic because he is one-of-a-kind in their community.
Meanwhile, the audience is bored. So, if Joe “The Plumber Magician” attempts to sell you his performance based on his secret club honors, ask whether he has any letters from previous paying clients that you may contact for a reference. You’ll almost certainly get a perplexing response that will leave you scratching your head, similar to speaking with the real Joe “The Plumber.”
4. They’re a children’s show, a magician
There’s nothing wrong with a balloon-twisting, cape-wearing magician, for the kids. However, some unwary clients hire these magicians for an expensive occasion and wind up with a romper room instead of an elegant celebration. That be wary; that low price might not be so low after all.
5. You’re not amusing
Don’t ask the magician, “Can you make this bill disappear?” when it’s time to pay him. In fact, avoid making the “Can you make ___ disappear” joke when speaking with a magician. This is something I bring up because I’m concerned about your safety. A magician will crack one day, and it may be me, after hearing this one too many times.
6. Your date isn’t confirmed until you pay the deposit
If you have a date with a magician, DJ, band, or another entertainer, get your money to them as soon as possible. People enjoy looking about, and we can generally tell when they are simply attempting to cover their bases.
My acquaintance was once booked twice by the same individual at the same time through two separate agencies. Fortunately, he was unaffected when she canceled via the agency she didn’t want to use, but one agent was ripped off by holding a date she could’ve used for a paying customer.
This is the bottom line. If we reserve a date for you, we must decline other work at that time. If you take too long to pay your deposit, we’ll think you’re looking for work, and we’ll accept another applicant if they’re willing to pay their money straight away.
So, don’t be disappointed; save your date by paying your fees on time. While I’m at it, it’s standard practice for entertainers to get paid immediately following their performance. If that’s the deal, maintain your promise and have the performer’s check ready when he’s through. We don’t have collections departments to follow up on late payments.
7. The sort of shoe is determined by your event
If a magician only does one type of show, he may be selling you on a spectacle that isn’t appropriate for your occasion (see kids magician example above). For example, if a magician just does card tricks, he won’t be able to captivate a 1,000-person crowd for an hour.
On the other hand, if the performer’s show necessitates a stage and complex lighting and music, he won’t be able to amuse 30 people at your cocktail event. Don’t be persuaded to book a performance that isn’t appropriate for your occasion. Find a talent that can adapt his act to your specific requirements.
8. Timing is crucial
Don’t have a magician try to entertain folks when they are eating supper. It’s a complete waste of money. You’re also paying for his time when you employ a magician. You’ll be charged if he’s supposed to work before supper and you make him wait until after dinner to perform.
9. The difficult thing is getting there
As comedians and magicians, we spend the majority of our time marketing, preparing shows, and traveling. The hardest part is over after the event is booked and we’ve arrived at the venue. With this information, if you hire a magician for an hour of strolling close-up magic and then decide you’d like him to stay an extra hour, he’ll almost certainly offer you a good bargain because he’s already done all the tedious work.
You can obtain a better price by waiting until this time to negotiate overtime, but you risk the performer having another concert planned after yours. He’ll have to depart if he doesn’t keep the appointment.
10. They have full-time jobs
Many magicians work part-time. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s a tremendous difference between a semi-pro and someone who entertains every day. Here’s a hint: If you hire two magicians, one will charge $200.00 and the other will charge $2,000.00. You discovered the hobbyist’s identity.
11. The most significant things are testimonials and sample videos
Don’t be tricked by fancy graphic design and gimmicks that make someone appear to be a celebrity even if they’ve only performed in two performances. Take a look at their demo video to discover how they perform. Verify that they have letters from previous clients and that they have worked for them several times!
12. Your visitors may be jerks
It’s a waste of money if your guests are sourpusses, inebriated, noisy, rude, or just plain jerks. Look, it’s your money, but if you hire a fantastic performer, you should inform your guests beforehand.
Make sure they know it’s a major thing to you by including it in the invitation. They’ll show more respect if you inform them in the invitation that “ABC, an excellent comic and magician from the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA will be entertaining,” and that they should attend early or lose out.
Take away
The secrets – Don’t be disappointed if we don’t teach you how to perform a trick. We are not obligated to tell you how much you paid us, regardless of how much you paid us. Besides, if we told you exactly how we achieved much of this, you’d be bored out of your mind. Enjoy the enchantment by focusing on the present moment and not on the man behind the curtain.
Also, remind them how enthusiastic you are about the entertainment and how fantastic it will be when you call them. Make the arrival of the entertainment a huge event, something special, because if you hired someone terrific, IT IS SPECIAL. The performer will be treated better and will put on a greater show if you emphasize how vital the entertainment is.
